About Us

A European space observatory known as CHEOPS (CHaracterising ExOPlanets Satellite). Its goal is to establish the size of known extrasolar planets so that their mass, density, composition, and creation may be estimated. It is the first Small-class mission in ESA’s Cosmic Vision scientific programme, having launched on December 18, 2019. [12]

The tiny satellite is equipped with a 30 cm optical Ritchey-Chrétien telescope installed on a typical small satellite base. It was launched into a Sun-synchronous orbit at a height of around 700 kilometres.
